My dad's considering driving up to the cities this weekend do it would be very good if I could contact you and all that. It would be an overnight stay, although I am not quite sure what days. I should check. hold on.

Okay, looking at leaving Thursday night and coming back Saturday morning, so two nights. Please to be of responding promptly-- I'm going to see if I can get a hold of John at SFS today before I go to sleep. Hopefully I either have my school ID in my wallet or their web page has their phone number.

edit: okay so I called SFS and left a message with Lara (who said I had better come to SFS on Friday) as John was not there at the time. I'll probably be awake till four/five-ish today, so I'll give him another call at home later.

edit edit: okay still no contact with John (it's now 04.00 Thursday) so I will continue to try and contact him. Assume that I'll be at SFS Friday, and if I haven't gotten a hold of John by then (like, he doesn't show up at SFS Friday) I will likely be staying with my dad wherever he is staying for the weekend unless otherwise noted.

My amusement of the day.

Okay, addendum to my 'frustrated-at-past-self' letter below:

Here is a perfect example of the sentence structure I used far too often at that point in time: Character does X action, being sure to be X adjective, before doing X other action.

ALL THE TIME. Like, half the sentences in this fic are written like that (occasionally skipping the middle bit.) It's incredibly annoying. Thankfully, I am editing like mad.

edit: my god I used to use a lot of commas. Way way way too many commas. Also I have found a good blog: I Hate My Flatmate.

Also the blog layout has gone from being tables to css and div tags. Because hey, I learned how to use the 'position' attribute and have been having way too much fun with it. No one but me will likely notice a change.

I used 'lent' as past tense of 'lean' (as in to lean against something). Lent. hee hee hee.

So. It's valentine's day. Happy day to you all! Once again, I think its lame that we have a day for telling people we care about them, when we can do that everyday, and should. Anyways.
I love and miss you all here on the blog, I hope you have a good day, even though some of you aren't going to be with the one you love. I hope that you all have to live through many m0re of these days just becuase it would be funny if you all lived a bit longer. Funny in an odd way, but still funny. And I suppose I'd rather enjoy it if you all lived long enough for me to see you again, or for the first time, as the case may be.

I am extremely proud of myself.

I've been making this layout dealie here because I am bored and I do love messing around with HTML. So I validate it using the W3C Validator and I figure hey, might as well see if it's proper HTML 4.01 Strict as well as HTML 4.0 Transitional. And yeah, it wasn't. But. The only error it had was that I used a <div align="right"> tag and you can't use the 'align' property in Strict-- there's a /reason/ it's called strict, you know. So I fixed that and was greeted with this:

So now I am happy. Of course, the layout has no real content yet so I should work on that, but at the moment-- I just wrote proper HTML 4.01 Strict! That's hard! You can't use /tables/ in Strict! It's all CSS and div tags! Hooray!

Okay. Awake now.

Okay, so yesterday at around 21.00 my dad called and was like "okay so want to come over?" and I was bored and whatever so I said "yes". So we talk about my sleeping schedule for a bit and he decides to come over and pick me up at 09.00 the following day. That's basically right when I go to sleep, but I figured whatever.

So I dork around for a while until nine rolls around. He arrives, we leave, etc. Now, at this point I've been up for around 14-16 hours. So I listen to music and read a book for an hour, getting rather queasy-feeling in the meantime from the heat and the movement and all that. About the heat: where I usally live, the inside temperature is... pretty cold. So I am used to wearing a sweatshirt-ish thing and having my hands be cold. In the car, the air temperature is several degrees warmer than my body temp, and that's rather icky feeling.

At any rate, we stop at a resurant halfway there, and I figure I might as well eat something even though I am emphatically not hungry (and also nausious). So I order a cheeseburger with fries and hope I don't, you know, vomit or anything.

So the food comes and I eat it (I was hungry even though I didn't have an appitite) and my dada starts talking about What I Should Do With My Life (this is a fairly common talk). He keeps going over "you know, going to college would be a good idea because you learn things and also etc, etc." So I say "You know, you seem to be harping on me going to college," and he kinda laughs and starts going on about how I have great potential and how I have all these skills and going to college would be a learning experience and whatnot. "Of course, lots of famous authors didn't go to college and etc etc" and I'm just kinda "..."

And then, what this whole entry has been building up towards: He says "You know, I read some of your writing on your website"
I make this half-choke half-cough sound that was probably pretty amusing to hear and start grinning like a loon.
"Even though the content was sexually explict, I wouldn't exactly call it /pornography/... it was too well written for that" and I am still just sitting there laughing quietly.

We finish up the food and buy a pie, and I spend the next hour of the trip listening to music and trying to get to sleep.

So that was what I did today.

So I am at my dad's cabin now. I am up way too late. I had the best drive up here yet.

Details to come once I pass up and rise from the grave three days later. I am tired and it is doubtful I will be able to explain in any coherant manner.

Sweet monkey jesus, past self, you had some really terribly annoying grammar quirks a year ago. Seriously. What the hell is up with all the COMMAS oh god the commas-- Not to /mention/ all the tense changes accompanying the commas.

And while I do thing the flow of these fics is better than my more recent works, that does not make up for all of the agonizingly phrased sentences. WAY TO BE REDUNDANT, PAST SELF.

That's way impressive. It's like my skill at playing Rez increases even when I don't play it.

Sadly, it does appear that to get the best ending you have to get shot down 100% on the last level, not anything less.

So that's still beyond my skill.

Also I got my SNES to work. Specifically, Secret of Mana. ...I got as far as the Dwarf Village before I got pwned by Tropicallo.
